"I'm Not Like Other Guys"
Man, that's one beautiful kid - whatever drove him to "improve" his looks I'll never understand. Poor guy - too bad he never found peace in his life.

chuck berry isnt dead...buddy holly
Man, I don't get this "Off the Wall" and "Thriller" stuff as being when people put MJ on a high pedestal. I had him there in 1970 when I was 10.
Chuck Berry wouldn't have been anyone if his cousin Marvin Berry never helped him find that new sound he was looking for.
I have a mint 1982 pressing of "Thriller", and wow, they're going for a hundred + on ebay right now... maybe I should cash in, it'll never get better than what they're going for now.
This is strange: I was playing "Thriller" (The Album that is) all day because it's both an excelent album and because it's a childhood memory.
"Thriller" in my opinion was flawless, not a single track on that album that was filler, Jackson and Quincy Jones were on top of their game.
I predict mass hysteria on his passing but as a reminder on how good he was...
He was never my cup of tea, but a major talent for sure. Also another example of how stardom, when thrust upon young kids, can just mess up their whole lives.
Thriller is an amazing album.. I never thought I'd like music like that, but I swiped it out of my Dad's collection years ago, and it's great.
My wife and I are still in shock. Despite everything, he had quite an impact on me musically as a kid. Thriller was our first tape we ever bought and I still have mine.
He's never been confirmed to molest children or anything, for all we know, he could've been an easy target for these kids and parents to go after for his money. I'm just saying, no jury ever convicted him, and we can't be judge and jury unless the government gives us that right.
Well to answer that, here's an essay I made on the album that followed "Thriller" and preceeded "Bad" from my personal blog.
I am a bit sad that the dialogue in this thread is so far below the normal discourse in this forum. Reminds me of Myspace Forums - where this kind of negative discussion is the norm. (smiley face omited intentionally)
frankie lymon and michael jackson where the supremely funkiest kids of all time... talent and soul to spare... how anyone with any affinity for music could question jackson's talent is beyond me... RIP MJ... tj
I was deleting and moving and banning as fast as my fingers could go....
when someone like that comes on the site.. just click the triangle... we're pretty fast at nailing things down....
I've gotta go to a gig in a bit, but the other guys will be around I'm sure.
Thank you kindly sir!
Oh he could compose music alright, just listen to THIS...
He played the Rhoads and percussion on this and also did all the voices. It sounds good enough to be released as it is.
