First off, I’m a huge Ken Burns fan. In fact, my favorite go-to sleep aid is turning on an episode of the Civil War, or his documentary on Jefferson or something. I’ve seen ‘em all multiple times, and there’s definitely something very comforting about them. They’re obviously labors of love.

I’ve been aware for a couple of years now that he’s working on a country music series, similar to his Jazz series, which is a masterpiece.

So I was watching Nova and Nature this afternoon and caught a trailer for it. Debuting in September. The trailer gave me chills. So I went to PBS’s website to find one (this one’s longer than the one I saw), just to share with TDPRI.

I did a quick search to make sure this hasn’t been discussed to death. Nothing jumped out. Anyone else really excited about this?

the Ken Burns jazz one was pretty good too.

Less Garth and more Dolly would work for me.

Ken Burns is great, in spite of his political agenda. Can't wait to see this film.

Can't wait. I'm a huge fan of Ken Burns. I rewatch The War and Baseball every couple years. Haven't sat down with the Vietnam documentary yet, but I will.

I'm not even a fan of baseball but that series certainly helped my attention.
I have the Burns (Rick) series 'New York' a dozen times in the last few months.
Those Burns series always have the best research, old photos and interviews.
I didn't even know there was a jazz one.

You’re in for a real treat. It’s on amazon primes, along with most of the other burns docs. There’s quite a few on Netflix as well. Just search ken Burns.

Well dang, I didn't realize there were so many Ken Burns documentaries.
I just ordered The West, Thomas Jefferson, Jazz, Prohibition, Brooklyn Bridge and Mark Twain.
    I think I'm good for a while.

Not sure when this will air in the UK- but I'll watch it. Everything he does is quality.

The Viet Nam 'documentary' is the one to miss. You can't pick that one up by the clean end.

I was privileged to see the first 2 hours of the program last week. In typical Burns fashion...it is going to be VERY impressive. There is 18 hours of the documentary.
