Went down to the GC and ordered an Origin 50 head. I expect it will make a great wet/dry match for my Blues Deluxe. Now I just need to wait until late next month and decide whether to use it with my 4x12 or my 2x12 cab. Really looking forward to the vintage style Marshall cleans.

A Marshall and a 4x12 is like peanut butter and jelly... it was just meant to be.

BTW how do those sound in person...doubt I'll ever hear one without taking "the plunge"

those are cool. they have a knob that simulates blending the channels like on an old four input plexi.

Haven't heard it in person yet. All the reviews I've seen say their tone is similar to the early Marshalls. JTM45, Bluesbreaker, that sort of thing and that is just what I'm looking for. That blender knob will be nice, but I bet I'll seldom use it. The cleans are what I'm after.

For some reason the word Marshall and the word clean, completley conflict in my brain...

But hey, if you like it, GO FOR IT! ;)

    I’m getting the 20.

Because it has a 5w setting.

I’d prefer it had a 12” speaker and I’m a combo guy so the head is out.

    Probably get mine in May.

I'm looking forward to the profiles to start showing up on the Kemper Rig Exchange.

Kinda funny isn't it... 2500 dollar amp to mimic one costing a 3rd of that

It would be funny if I bought the Kemper just to run profiles of only one amp. ;)

I've never used one...or heard one in person, so I can't pass any judgment on them.

I've honestly thought about selling off all my amps and just using a computer/software and powered monitors...

Still can't drive myself to do it though.

It took me a year to screw up the courage to spend the money. I watched every video I could find, read every review, lurked in the KPA forum, etc.

If you really utilize it and have a ton of great profiles I could see it .

But , it def strikes me as something that is going to be about $500 someday.

And then all the old dudes will say that the first ones are warmer or some hoo-hah like that and that the newer ones lack something

    I mean since i don't gig..
As there is no one to gig with:(

I figure going to a compact PC based rig would be logical...

But I don't want to part with ANY gear, I never have.

I think I would love an Origin 50 combo but I already have 3 amps, two of them Marshall-flavored, and can't justify the $800 price tag for an amp I'd seldom use to play out (like, once every two years).

Then the other day, my guitar-crazed buddy in Cleveland got a bug up his butt for a new Friedman Runt. He decided to trade in his two (one black, one white) DSL-40C combos at GC to help offset the cost. The thing is, since the Origins and the newer, much improved DSLs came out, the price of the previous-version DSLs has dropped through the floor. GC said they'd give him $300 for each, at which point I told him, for $300, I'd take one off his hands. Keep it in the family as it were. I selected the black one, which was the special Sweetwater edition with the Creamback in it. My first "real" Marshall since 1990.

The clean early Marshall sound is unbelievably great. I don't need to dime it, I don't channel Jimi.
