Just finished my first Lapsteel built (self-invented PU)

    just wanted you to show a few pics of my Lapsteel built. The pickup is "my invention". It's an alnico5 humbucker magnet between two pieces of pickguard material. Probably close to 1960s Melody Maker PUs construction-wise.

    The wood is cherry, ash fretboard and walnut headstock veneer. The cherry tree was planted by my great-grandma in the late 50s. So it's kind of an emotional built... Thank you great-grandma for providing me with such beautiful wood for my builds! :)

    Nice piece of wood, and good eye on selecting the placement of the grain pattern. Looks like it was a fun build!
