Hey guys, I just bought a Fender acoustasonic JR to play my Takamine /acoustic/electric through. Can some of you guys that own this amp give me a few settings for a starting place. I just want my Takamine
to have a good crisp bassy acoustic tone. Thanks

I have one of those amps (the first model without the digital effects).

Set the tone knobs all flat.
    Turn the chorus off (forever)
Turn the string dynamics (compression down to about three)
Add just a hint of reverb.

    Play for a while.

Add a bit more presence (or whatever the crispy top end knob is called)
    Add a bit more bass

I monkey around with the bottom and top tone to add crispness and thump when I strum. That's about it. I like mine, it sounds especially great with a 12 string.

I avoid acoustic effects other than reverb and a tiny bit of compression. Effects on acoustic is like ketchup on lobster. Just don't.

If you have a good acoustic, you mearly want to amplify it without changing anything...this becomes the challenge.

    thanks

Thanks JLG, I'll follow your advice. And your right, my Takamine has a GREAT tone, and I don't won't to alter it except maybe a tad bit of reverb.
