I'll be building another guitar for Needtobreathe and their next charity event in April 2018, and it won't be a Tele this time. Bo sent me an email a few weeks ago with a pic of a guitar that caught his eye. He likes funky, cool stuff, and really liked the offset and the multiple textures of the metal/plastic pickguard. He's been playing a Jazzmaster on the current tour, so I figured I'd kind of do a mashup. It'll be a JM made from the roasted swamp ash body I got from GuitarWoodExperts.com last year. I'll do a burst finish with an animal print pg with metal sections like a Jaguar pickguard. It'll have a maple Tele neck with a reversed headstock and a pau ferro fretboard. For pickups, we'll go with Jazzmaster style wound by my favorite pickup guy . Also thinking of doing a Bigsby on it as well. So here's the body fresh from the band saw: And I can't decide if I want to go with birdseye or flamed maple for the neck.
