Doesn't matter. My daughter likes it:

"Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell Rock
Jingle Bell Rock and Jingle Bell Rock"

And then the lyrics get as weird as a 3 year old can make them.

    Good lesson version here:

  3. musical genres are created by non musicians.
paying attention to them is to miss the point.

I was accidentally in the middle of a Love Parade in Zurich, with a half million people. They had flatbed trucks set up every block or so, each playing different beats. I saw a poster that listed all of the sub-sub-sub-genres, like Jungle, Drum n Bass, Chicago House, Acid House, and 30 more. That represents a pretty cool level of awareness.

And Blues in the Night is not blues.

Music is a continuum and there is a commonality in every genre. It is a major part of the human experience. Get to know the history of music better and the genres will begin to fade away.

I haven't yet played in a single band where we didn't make up a genre on our own, to describe what we were doing (or trying to do).

At the time I would say it was on the pop side of rock and roll. There wasn't a genre called "rock" yet. "Rock" was usually a verb, and more often followed by "roll" somewhere not far after.

    If it matters!
