Is it smarter to spend money on a strap for every guitar, or to just switch one between guitars?

I have only one strap because I'm a miser who is also neurotically indecisive and buying straps is a nightmare for me :D

Ernie Ball nylon straps are cheap and they last forever...
strap for every guitar and ask for the nice ones for your birthday etc..much better than an itchy sweater...

I don't have a strap assigned for every guitar, but I have a lot of guitars, and a lot of straps. Some I like and some I don't.

One 40 year old Gibson strap for three guitars. Schaller strap locks on everything, that works for me.

This should have been a poll.

I too have one strap for every guitar, selected with care. I just think that each guitar calls out for a specific strap to match its style, colors, weight.

Those people that only use one strap for all their guitars, especially if they have more than a few.. that's just weird.

    RULES:

#1. Each guitar gets its own strap.
#2. Each strap should match the guitar's color.

(Had to buy some leather dye for a few of these in order to satisfy Rule #2.)

I’m a strap for each though they aren’t married. I use Schaller locks on everything so I can rotate when function, aesthetics, or bordom dictates.

When I got my SG I had to audition them to see which could handle the neck dive the best.

Need a good strap for each guitar, and with locks. One of my all-time favorite clips of a wanna-be rocker ....

One strap for each song played on any given guitar.

Never liked strap locks and repeated removal loosens the fit.
Also don't really like strap fashion, though I do like leather, so I check the clearance belt racks at Marshalls and buy 40" or bigger real leather belts I like the look of, cut off the buckle, punch and slice end holes that are tight fitting, and then leave them on the guitars I play unless I've got the guitar on the bench for adjustments.

Interesting. Is that cheaper than buying a leather strap, or are there just no leather straps you like the style of?

I have a mic/mic cable like this. Either the switch is spotty or the cable has a short, I can't recall which, so, duct tape

Back to straps, I've made some cool ones out of belts I've bought from second hand stores, like, leopard print things
I also made one from a seatbelt from my old Impala

as for strap locks, the Grolsch washers are the ticket

Generally for a nice piece of leather it is cheaper @ $10 to make a new belt into a strap.
But also I get a strap with no length adjustment, cut and punched to the right size for me.
Buckles look cool and all, but I don't want that stuff on my strap or guitar or boots or anywhere else unless my pants don't fit.
