My wife asked me if I was 'busy' today?
That usually means that she wants me to do something, that she doesn't want to do herself. :(
So I told her, that I was busy wring a novel.

    "On what?', she asked.

    "Lighthouses of New Mexico"

I wrote a novel once. It's all of 26 pages long. It's finished.

I would call that a novel approach to avoiding unwanted chores lol

How do you write a novel?

    One word at a time.

That's an excellent title. Beats the heck out of "The Bridges of Madison County."

If there written rules of internet communication, one of the top ones would be to make sarcasm blatant or to forgo it completely. I've learned this the hard way..

I'd love to write a novel too...and make a hit song....actor, comedian, movie producer, UFC star, billionaire....

    Good luck with it.

I told my wife this afternoon that I was too tired to do gardening. She asked, "Too tired from what?"
    I said, "From being awake."

    LOL!!!

Now that I turned 60, it tires me out just using a roll of toilet paper.

Of course, NOT using a roll of toilet paper isn't an option....unless I turn senile?

If a statement like "Lighthouses of New Mexico" is made, who's fault is it really if the humor and sarcasm is missed?

Well, I don't know about you, but I don't see why anyone would say "How many lighthouses are in NM?" sarcastically to begin with (it's not funny so it can't be a joke), so I assumed he was serious. I see far stupider questions asked in seriousness on forums daily. *shrug*

Yeah, the original statement was sarcasm. "The Lighthouses of New Mexico" is obviously a joke. Someone who asks how many lighthouses are in New Mexico clearly doesn't get the joke. Either that, or they're trying to help explain the joke out of some perception that other people aren't getting it. Either way, it's not sarcasm.

If it takes a whole roll of toilet paper each time, I would say that fatigue is the least of your worries...

Isn't there a lighthouse on Elephant Butte Lake?

At least you didn't pick Lighthouses Of Arizona, I think there's about a dozen of them just on Lake Havasu.

Elephant Butte Lake has significantly shrunk in size over the last few years, due to our prolonged drought here in New Mexico.
Structures that have been underwater for decades, are now high and dry.

    Pretty sad.........................................................

As of May of 2013, Elephant Butte Lake was at 11% of peak capacity.
