If I can only choose from what I currently own, I say:

MXR 78 custom distortion
TCE nova repeater

I'd gladly trade the boss for a VS route 66.

 

A tuner isn't really an effect is it?

A compressor, an overdrive, chorus and delay.

 

Yeah...this...except a distortion that will clean up to OD.

 

If I can only have four effects....I'd better buy a couple more

I would probably use this route. Might switch the Chorus for a Wah, but right now I am utilizing my chorus more. Plus my TC Chorus has a trem feature (might be cheating with that though)

A lot of guys seem to go for comp - OD - trem - delay. I can totally understand the last 3, I use those too. I would love to learn how you use the compressor and why.

I know what the comp does and how it works, do you use it for country clean tones or perhaps to boost leads, or trick an OD into thinking it's a distortion pedal?

I don't feel I need one right now, but perhaps I'm missing something.

I'd love to learn about your application of the compressor pedal

 

My current pedal line up is only 4

Super Hard On Clone > TC Spark Boost > Univibe > TC Flashback

 

Reverb, delay, tremolo, and during my shirtless unicycle Edgar Allen Poe tribute "Fog Raven-Heart," dry ice.

 

Fulldrive > OCD > DE7 > homemade mostfet clean boost.

I have others on my board but this is what i use most of the time these days.
