Anyone help me identify this 6L6GC I think it's a GC but I don't can't tell by just looking.. I'm running it now with a 6L6GB and they sound great together. But would love to find a mate for this one.. bias'd to GC spec IMG_20171002_161007676.jpg IMG_20171002_161039731.jpg IMG_20171002_161106195.jpg

Everything about them except the shiney silver C shaped piece of metal at top says GE, probably 7581 with ribs in plate.

Especially the mica design but that shiney piece on top looks off. I've only ever seen them grey.

Meaning it would be a GE tube. GT doesn't make tubes, they just test them (sorta) and relabel them.

Early on they sold some NOS tubes. Those look like GE's to me.

Is there anyway it could be a GB instead of a GC?

Don't think so. GE GB are black plates. Getter is top mounted. Mica look ok nothing like yours.

I think what we're looking at here is a end of USA production GE, probably 80-85. Wouldn't even surprise me if it was BEL India made or early Japanese clone.

Can someone explain what GB and GE stand for? Is GE General Electric?

So should still match up nicely with another GE 6L6GC pretty good? It sounds great with the GB it's with now but not sure it will hold up to my 426 plate volts for to Long..

GE is the brand General Electric GB and GC are two different versions of many 6L6's that were made.. hope this helps..
