Thought we'd start the new year with some cowboy jazz.
My wife recently reminded me that we had done some tracks at the studio where I recorded my CD several years ago. The owner / engineer was an incredible gentleman who passed away a couple of years ago.
We had laid down two songs with just her vocal track and a rhythm guitar track. Kyle had given these to us on a cd a long time ago.
I was able to import the tracks into Reaper. On this one I added the harmonized guitar parts and that's it.
Very stripped down version but I think it stands up well on it's own.

What a voice - beautiful! The track and guitars sound great. Has a timeless feel to it. Beautiful!

    Thank you so much Mike!
LOL! Thank you! Yeah, we met in the music business years ago and made a living playing while trying to raise a family. We quit playing full time quite a while back. She's now a Nurse Practitioner with her Doctorate and I'm a non-degreed engineer. I've played all my life and try to keep her in the loop. This last November was our 34th anniversary.

Thanks tery! By the way, the harmony parts were a Classic Vibe Tele!

Lovely vocals, I mean really great. Thanks for posting and giving us the back-story. I prefer the stripped down sound and look forward to the forthcoming duet album!

Yes, great voice and crystal clear. Great guitar playing as well. I’m a big fan of the stripped-down sound. Put out an album!

We thank you very, very much. We both work full time at day gigs so getting something like that done is difficult. Not impossible though!;)

I did think about this!! I have a bass and could lay a track down and I even toyed with the idea that Sean aka Holdonphoton has used in the past with brushes on a pizza box!
Amazing how good it actually sounds!

I really like the 2014 video of you and your wife doing this song that you posted here. You make playing in G flat look easy.

The songwriter (LeRoy Preston) also wrote My Baby Thinks He’s a Train; have you considered it?

Wow! I'm impressed that you remember this! We used to play My Baby Thinks He's a Train as part of our set list when we were still gigging. We have some similar tracks for Crazy by Patsy Cline. This will most likely be up next. The Train tune may or may not happen. We'll have to see, but we appreciate the suggestion. Thanks so much for your response!!

    Thank you Jostein!
    Thank you very, very much!

    Gracias mi Amigo!

I too, was thinking upright bass when bass was mentioned. I would love to work with an upright bass player. I knew one a long time ago. A very good one too. But he has moved on. Thanks so much for listening!
