I wonder if these kids care about wood species or finish thickness. Inspiring..

I have not been here in a month of Sundays so don't know if this has already made the rounds. I found it inspiring and thought all the builders here would like this.

The Texaco oil can certainly sounds better than the Shell oil can. Must be vintage.
Holy cow, that was inspiring! Makes me feel bad for being so privileged. I almost cried when that kid played the oil drum cello, what beautiful music. I need to go practice some more.

That was amazing. Really got me thinking about how fortunate I am.

Very inspiring, on several levels. Thank you for posting it!

In Burundi, Africa, the youngest of children can beat out amazingly complex poly rhythms on home made percussion instruments... and their timing would rival the best drum teachers in America. It's astounding.

Several of the tribes I saw had a 50 gallon oil drum in the center of their village, with animal skins stretched across the top and bottom, and they would all take turns leading on it. Just percussion/drums... and voices... and it was some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard. It reminds me of the scene in The Shawshank Redemption when Andy plays the Mozart piece for the inmates in the courtyard... and time seemed to stop for a moment.

I bet old Brazilian rosewood finds its way to their garbage dump. They could have nicer fretboards than us!

Yeah that is a very cool clip. Not to belittle it but it did make me think of Fat Albert's band

Reminds me of making drums out of stuff as a kid when no one had a drum set.
