A few months ago I bought myself an American Special Tele, in Olympic White. (It was second hand, but all mint condition)

    I payed $680 for it.

I've played it very much, done some modding and played it some more.. I like the guitar very very much, but still it's missing something... (My number one tele is '04 ash bodied and rosewood boarded Am.Std. modded aswell with natural refinish on body and Surf90 neckPU.)

Now I've decided to go the partscaster way on that Am. Special.

I ordered a swamp ash TeleMaster body and I'm gonna use Am. Spec. neck on that body. (Guitarbuild.uk)

Then I'm gonna find myself a 60's style neck to put on the Special, with the mint guard and some 60'ish PU:s

Must be outta my mind, but that's what I'm gonna try, to make me two totally new guitars. :D

I'll post pics, when I get the project going.

You're not outta your mind, you're among a lot of people who
think this way. Good luck with the builds, post photos.

You may be outta yer mind.....but I fail to see how that's a bad thing, part of the beauty of fenders is the very thing you're about to do. Good luck!

    Thanks!

I've done lots of partscasters and in fact I got all the money for this Am.Special, for selling two of my part teles.

This time I have prepared better, because the woods are so much more expensive, than my earlier builds.

I allready have CTS pots, oak grigsby, some cloth wire, CS Broadcaster bridge PU and Gotoh 6 saddle brass bridge. (I know 6 saddles are blasphemy, but I've used to the Am.Std)

Ordered and on the way home I have control plate, with angled switch hole, electrosocket jack plate and so on..

I hope with these parts I can have myself some superb guitar.

The reason I wanted a TeleMaster sheped body is that my band plays roots rock'n'roll, with modern vibes and I wanna make an ultimate gigging guitar, with vintage sound but hybrid shape of my two favourite Fender guitars.
