I thought I could leave well enough alone and play it "as is" but I guess not. It really should be this way anyhow, right? I keep turning the tone down now though, I guess a little muscle memory to overcome.

Don't worry about the Tone - it will leak out the bottom now you have turned the control plate upside down :0(

I've considered this mod before. What's stopped me (to this point, anyway) has been the prospect of having to overcome 11 years of muscle memory.

Last September, I got a new guitar: my Logan Custom Challenger...
    My Logan Custom Challenger, 12-22-2018 - 2.jpeg

When it was still brand new to me and I was getting to know it, the first time I decided to use the tone knob for a kind of wah effect, I instinctively reached back to where it would have been on one of my four teles. As a result, I wrapped my pinky around the pickup selector switch.:oops: So my concern about muscle memory taking over in the moment was not unfounded.

You’re lucky. At my age I seem to have gas leak issues.

Both my Teles came this way. I keep forgetting it's a thing I should have a moral dilemma about.

Got the control panel on my main Tele flipped and I really like it. Considering getting a control plate with an angled selector switch cutout to make it a bit quicker to grab on to when it’s in the neck position. As it is now, that neck position on the switch kinda rests in the shadow of your tone knob. Makes it a titch clunkier to latch on to, especially if you are in a hurry.
