I hate choosing health insurance

    I just asked the woman who heads HR. Without hesitation, she pointed to one and said something like, "My family's had this plan for years and it hasn't steered us wrong." Boom. Choice made.

    I'm in France.

    Basic insurance covering typically 3/4 of everything essential is included in the national health coverage. Complementary insurance covering the rest (and more if you seek to see more expensive specialists) is 30-40 € / month. Preexisting conditions or not.

    If you have a severe problem like cancer you get promoted to 100 % within the national coverage, even those who did not get the complementary insurance.

    Of course this has a cost, but it is a shared cost. Everybody can get ill.

    I had cancer, and survived. It left some traces, but none of financial nature.

    Still have my home, just bought a great new guitar, see avatar.

    No offence intended, sincerely not, but sometimes it is just so difficult to understand the USA.
