Perusing GC used online last week and came across this one. 2010 Special Edition Ash Tele up graded with Greg Koch Fishman Fluence pickups, Fender locking tuners and Graph Tech saddles. Amazing sounding pickups and when they say quite they mean quiet, even with gain.

PURDY PURDY! What's the Special Edition star marking in the back of the headstock all about? And that switch looking thingy in the control plate? Last, there's no way the guitar is intonated correctly with the bridge saddles setup like that, say it ain't so!

Congrats again, really a beauty of a Tele.

Whenever I see an ad for a guitar that has saddles that obviously aren't adjusted for intonation I assume the seller doesn't know much about guitars. It rings the opportunity bell for me.

That bridge pic was taken right after I got it. Whoever had it before obviously wasn't worried about intonation. The little button on the control plate is part of the Fishman Fluence setup. It comes with the output jack with the USB input for the lithium ion battery as well as it's own control plate ready to go, the button switches between the "black" and "white" settings.

Have you charged it yet? I really want to try that set up, but there is something weird about a tele with a micro-usb port.

It was fully charged when I bought it. I agree it’s pretty high tech for a Tele lol.

I've played this guitar more in the last 3 days than probably any other guitar I've owned. Can't put the thing down. I still want another body though. As pretty as this one is I just prefer a painted finish to a natural look. Probably go with an MJT once I sell this one.

So - what exactly does that pickup set do that regular magnetic pickups don't? I've heard of it, but, I'm not at all familiar with it.
