Am I mistaken?
They've made some special runs with set neck.
Just looked at the picture so updating. That was a regular Fender item. I remember gassing for one at the time.
They've made several that I'm aware of. Check out the Jim Adkins tele.
They've been making variations of that model for nearly 20 years now. It's a current model still.
One better: Merle's Tuff Dog Tele was thru-neck construction.
OK guys - thanks! I appreciate y'all helping me fill a gap in my awareness. Were these US or MIM? Anyone know what the model in the link I posted was called - I think it's a nice guitar, and I'm interested, but, have no idea what reasonable pricing would be.
Actually Fender has made many set-neck tele's in the past from Custom Shop guitars to those made in Korea, and Indonesia
There was a thread about those a few days ago.
EDIT: Whoops! That was a set neck strat! Never mind!
Actually there's a scraf joint at the heal, which I never understood. Why not just make it a true thru neck?
This model has been made for a number of years now. I owned one until recently. It's a nice guitar. I sold it to fund a custom Tele purchase or I'd still have it.
My JA p90 Tele was made in Fender's Indonesian Plant Yes Indonesia
Yer right! I always thought it was one piece. Maybe this is easier than finding a good, long-enough, piece.
The FMT and QMT Tales were made in Korea in the past and have been produced in Indonesia for a few years now. Top notch in every way.
I saw and played a custom shop one years ago at Mars Music. It was nice but....
Played on in a GC once; Indonesia. Build quality was excellent, but it sounded nothing like a Tele. If I’d wanted those tones, I’d just buy a Gibson.
It was a looker, though.
The TC90 was a glued in neck, not really a neck through. Sort of like the Jim Atkins Tele.
All the specs:
They have a thin "shredder" type neck.
I think it's that made in Korea model: https://shop.fender.com/de-DE/elect...#prefn1=series&prefv1=Limited+Edition&start=1
