I find that I really like the bridge pickup on my '52, and I really like the neck pickup, but I really don't care for them combined. There is nothing wrong, just don't really care for the sound. I have read that you need to remove the cover, and cut the ground, and add a ground to the cover (something I don't really wanna do) on the front pickup if you wire it for both series and parallel with a 4 way. Would you still have to do this for a 3 way where you only used the middle position for series? I also have an FSR, same thing, I like the neck, I like the bridge, but the middle not so much. I would just as soon have both in series at the middle. I saw someone actually had their Tele wired that way on the forum, but couldn't find anything about it on the search function. Maybe buy a front pickup with three wires? I actually decided this from how well I like my Classic Player since I backed out the screws on the back side of the pickups. I can using the 2 tone controls to make a lot more pleasing sound to me by adjusting each 'til I get something I like. Anyone have a diagram, and any comments on making the change?
