Restrung my L7 with my favourite Thomastik flatwounds and decided to give it a whirl.
Great playing, superb tone, and awesome choice of musical style.
Agreed on all points!
I always dig your posts. Great playing and beautiful vintage axes.
Really nicely done!
What Fender is that you’re playing through?
Is that you on the backing track?
Very smooth and enjoyable to listen to.
Very nice sir.
nice touch and sound
Thanks. It's a 1976 Vibrolux.
No. That's an Aebersold play-along track I condensed to three choruses.
Thanks for the kind words. I usually go for a much darker, warmer tone (i.e. ES-175 neck humbucker) but I'm really digging the tone on this one.
IMHO, anything darker might get into the muddy zone. This one articulates nicely, but still has that unmistakable jazz tone.
Your part was really good, and that backing track sounds like you would've played it. Very good stuff.
This is nothing short of brilliant. I will be spending some time with this at half speed to steal as much as possible. For instance, the Cm lick at 1:30 - so simple yet so effective. Also I like your fingering for octaves as I don’t have the greatest hands. Doesn’t hurt that it’s one of my favorite tunes and your guitar is lovely.
I was moved by this also. Antonio Carlos Jobim is one of my favorite composers and your playing was beautiful and just what this song deserved.
Thanks for the kind words. I'm honoured. It makes me happy to think of another guitarist stealing some of my licks, since I spent so much time stealing from others.
