Ouch! Take good care and heal quickly.
You're a big guy - too much distance between the control center and extremities.
thanks Colt for your tutorial - your timing couldn't be better, I am about to apply lacquer to the neck I am building for the challenge
No problem. Building guitars is fun.
LOL, and at times, frustrating as hell!
And painful if you rip the skin off your toes with a buffer.
Ouch!! dammit that had to hurt....I can feel it all the way in Fl!
I gave up going barefoot or with flip flops a long time ago, lesson learned the hard way many times.
Heal quickly, bro!
Advanced AutoParts gouged me for $70 for that yesterday. It's no wonder these companies can't compete with the internet. The same coaxial cable at Best Buy for $21.99 was $1.98 at Partsexpress.
I paid the $70, because I want to support local businesses, but I'm not overly thrilled about. That's just sick ass price gouging.
I think I gave 32.89$ at O'Reillys, and I saw it at Lowes this morning for 29.99$.
70$, wow, that's really expensive. I thought I got hosed paying 3$ more.
Colt - How are your toesies?
Colt, in the future...
Do they make a pointy toe version for his cowboy boots?
Very good POINT!
Yuk yuk. We crack ourselves up. (At our brother's expense)
Its okay, but have yall ever had to put band aids on your toes? That is a task!
Mask off the fretboard
Color the tops of the frets
Scrub Frets level
This bar is great to see where you are, and getting most of the frets on a level plane. However, if I have a few sunken frets or stubborn frets, I swap over to my DiaSharp Extra Coarse diamond sanding stone.
Then add some fall off
Then paint the frets again and crown the tops
Buff with 400 grit
Buff with 1000 grit
Now that will play nice, but sometimes, a little extra efforts makes the difference.
I'll try to get some better photos tomorrow. These are just camera phone pics.
What is "fall off"?
Angle the last several frets so they don't buzz when you have a low action.
