when all else fails, beatles fanatics will always resort to personal attacks.
I'm more of a fan of reality and humor...
I've never been a Beatles fan, but I'm thinking about becoming one just to piss you off
Seems like you're the only one resorting to name-calling in here.
If' "beatles fan" is name-calling, ok...
I will agree though that I personally wouldn't like to be called that. so, I'll consider that, before placing that accusation on anyone in the future...thanks for that bit of enlightenment- it's probably a negative thing to be referred to as.
They are/were hungry for something whether it was their music or adorableness. I don't know what your beef is except that you might prefer bobby socks and saddle shoes over Converse All Stars or bare feet. Through the magic of recording r'n'r is still available to you. If you think that r'n'r holds moral authority over other forms of music then worship r'n'r someway, but you can't blame the shortcomings of something that had limited appeal on something else that has/had wider appeal. I suppose you can if you want so as to be a provocateur, but that seems like blind faith to me.
Ask blowtorch. I'm one of the 99% who appreciate the Beatles.
I appreciate the beatles negative influence on things plenty.
Oh, @blowtorch is just having fun with y'all. If you wanna mess with him, tell him you are starting a Stray Cats tribute band.
With the demise of chlorofluorocarbons in the nineties, is the hair required for a Stray Cats tribute band even possible anymore?
I don't know what's gone on in the first 27 pages of this thread, but I'll throw in my two cents worth .
As a live band (yes, I actually saw them live at the old Cleveland Stadium) they were O.K.
As a studio band they were pretty brilliant - starting with the Sargent Pepper album.
With their studio music, they did a great job of introducing people to types of music that were very different from what they'd normally listen to.
Listen to what you like, and leave the rest for someone else.
Do you mean "describe" the Beatles? A bar band with enough talent to write great Pop songs.
Explaining why they were popular? Handsome young bar band with enough talent to write catchy, memorable, easily understood Pop songs.
Oh man!!!! You just had to do that didn't you????
Just when things were starting to settle down, you had to come along and through the monkey wrench in the pickle juice!
It seems like I have a knack for that, but it mainly happens just on the Bad Dog .
Is this the place where I share all the 'who did it better' songs? Legacy
LOL. Yeah, that's what this thread was missing. More subjective opinion.
Amazing coincidence — just as I reached the end of this thread (can't believe I read the whole thing!), a BBC radio segment came on about the Beatles and how they "completely transformed popular music." It's still on, as I type (strains of "Get Back" under the narration).
so.... Who's your favorite Beatle?? Mine's George!!!!
At least yer getting paid for this!
