I know that there are alot of Comet fans out there...
Is anyone playing or had experience with the comet's older sibling? I played a black/white one a few years back, but only briefly and I didn't get a feel for it...
There is a nice one on ebay, but according to my local shop's blue-book, he is asking too much...

Too much.. the Comet is basically the same as the Imperial, just better. So the Imperial is basically obsolete. A Comet 1x12 goes for about 1100-1200.. The Comet will soon be obsolete because of the new Meteor, so prices on Imperials should be going down more..

    I agree, Mike...

The shop that I frequent had a hard time unloading one for $900, and an employee ended up buying it for $750.
I may email the seller with a more realistic offer...

The Imperial (which looks like a 2x6v6 Continental) has trem, too, and TK's trem is supposed to be pretty good. I'd rather have one than a Comet, myself.

What would really get me going is one of the Continental head/cab combos -- they look and sound great.

great amp, but wishful thinking on the $

I owned a Continental combo ('97), and sold it used for $1000 last year (excellent condition). John

Well, a Continental combo went for almost $1600 last week. It's not even my preference for a boutique amp, but they're fine amplifiers.

"Obsolete" is harsh, I guess, but I think $800-$850 is closer than $1000 in the current market..

    There is a bid.

So someone feels its worth a grand. I should have bought up the one for sale in Seattle last year.
That Imperial on ebay would look nice with my Ice Blue 1962 RI....
    Oh Well!
