well maybe it has ,I dont know , this is a first for me........

    Unbelievable.....

any ways to day i go to work at 05:00 am my usual time , I am still recovering from surgery so I work 5 hr shifts with alternating days ( some what ) off at 10:00 am
so after work today I have to pick up my squeeker after their shift at 11:00 I've got an hour to kill so i go to Long & Mcquade here in town , Im looking for an allusive Behringer pedal a Vintage time Machine VTM-1 and out of the blue they have one for sale in Scarburough Ontario for 49.00 CDN so I order it now Im excited ,I have been looking for about a week for one , then the sales guy says to me , "oh I've got something for you'" they all know me really well ( been a customer for over 45 years ) and the rep calls me to the back room and he GIVES me a Korg M-50 synthesizer, , thats right a Korg M-50 synth ....
he says to me we were going to throw this out , it needs a capacitor , Korg sent us the service manual , but we cant be bothered to fix it , so take it ,

I brought it home and have spent the morning going over the manual watching videos and playing the 5 banks of 127 patches each , this thing has a 16 track midi recorder , sequencer , several built in effects , it came with the power supply , the service manual , owners manual with a dvd and an editor program, and full midi implimentation charts it has midi , USB2 and records to 2 gig SD chips

it fires up no issues , goes into mode , no issues and will lock up after about 10 -30 min of operation ,it still functions properly but will not change patches Korg suggests it is one of 2 caps on the mother board easy fix.

this unit has about 800 patches that can be combo'd for a split keyboard operation. plus arpagiator, a midi sequencer, and controller functions , all of the patches can be accessed via midi

on Ebay these units are between 800.00-about 1000.00 CDN used , I am stoked !!!!!!!!!!

Too cool if you ask me

    Nope, never happened to me!

A music store where they knew me well did sell me a set of Zildjian hi hats with no stamp (seconds but great vintage hats) for $10 after buying a big drums lot and not having priced them yet.

You just got a never happen!

Congrats to you, and kudos to the store for doing something positive and not just tossing it into a landfill.

Nice score! And they wouldn't have given it to you if you weren't a good customer that they liked. So that's cool too.

I was driving thru a construction area on the outskirts of town, saw a road case lying just off the side of the road. Thought it might fit a guitar. Opened it up, Korg M1 inside! It powers up, but makes no sound. Think it will cost more than its worth to fix it...
