    Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone knows where to find bridge saddles for a late 60s/early 70s Tele. Specifically the grooved steel barrel saddles as used on the ‘72 Custom RI and the ‘69 Thinline RI. It seems to have been discontinued as a separate part from Fender for some reason.

Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks!

Found several grooved brass sets on eBay and one steel set. The steel set was attached to a vintage bridge plate for $25.

Darren Riley had a set of 70's(currently out of stock) for $35. Fender part #0007698000

Thanks for looking! I should have mentioned I checked eBay and had actually gotten a set but the sizing was wrong and the intonation screws were hex screws instead of flatheads. Closest I have found is a KTS ‘68 set which was quite expensive and an entire 69/72 bridge assembly with pickup, which was still less than the KTS saddle but still more than I want to spend for just saddles. The Darren Riley ones are exactly what I’m looking for, but as you mention they are out of stock

E-mail Darren about the availability. His e-mail address should be on his Web site. He’s responsive.

Thanks for the idea! I did that and he was unsure when/if that part would be available again.

Found some yesterday, the STRATosphere listed a ‘72 Custom reissue bridge/saddle set and I ordered it immediately. It comes with the bridge plate as well, which I don’t need and will probably resell later.

Go to a local hardware store and swap-out the screws.
