Someone wants to trade me this for my covered JB. I'm trying to figure out what it is. He says it has a DC Resistance of 9K.

I'm thinking it's an MK10. A Super 2 without screw polepieces. First I've heard of it.

Seriously tho, AFAIK, humbuckers w/o screw pole pieces were found on lower end pickups back in the day. I believe Ibanez or ??? featured DiMarzio's in their guitars at one point so this might be one of their lower end ones. The single coil pickup with the metal base plate looks to be a MIJ strat pu from the 70's or possibly early 80's so that might be a clue as well as to the era of that DiMarzio pickup. I agree with rangercaster, contacting DiMarzio would be your best bet.

I just found an old Reverb listing where the seller was thinking the same about the pup he was selling. The K rating is in the ballpark (from the DMZ site), and no screws (from the Reverb ad).

I also vote for contacting DMZ..

I found one thread on a forum where someone suggested a similar pickup was a MK10 and the same Reverb posting @kookaburra found where the owner also thought it was an MK10.

@rangercaster I'm probably not going to contact Dimarzio because one of the threads I was on said Dimarzio wasn't able to help them for this type of pickup, and it turns out the person wanting to trades insists I come to a location 45 minutes away from where I live. I was hoping this DMZ would be something interesting, but based on what I'm reading it really isn't.

The pickups with no marking were installed at the manufacturing level - I have a JB unmarked that came out of a PRS or something.

Wow, have not thought about those Hondos in years. I remember one showing up at a jam session about 25 yrs ago.

I think you are getting the short end of that trade.

I agree. I didn't make the trade and I appreciate people helping me assess what it is. Especially @Michael A. with his link.
