I appreciate all of the consistant information on this site as well as the differing opinions that cover all aspects of many subjects. Knowledge is related to change. I live in SE Alaska and travel to Oregon where I grew up and played drums in 2 different bands. My son plays guitar and we enjoy looking for used guitars at pawn shops, 2nd hand stores and online. This trip we found a '91 MIM Tele that sounds and plays excellent and is in good shape. Within 5 minutes my son said "I have a new favorite" when he tested it. He couldn't get over the 'smooth' neck. I've read here that early MIM's had a top loader bridge and that it wasn't popular but after hearing this one with a top loader, it is as great sounding as the one my cousin played back in the '70's. It took me right back there. I posted a question about the configuration of the factory bridge yesterday. We really like this Tele!
