    I imagine it's a little of both.

Huge threads about what you dislike or cargo shorts aren't the things that initially drew me to TDPRI...

I suppose they were always there, but at least in my memory, they tended to have far fewer replies. I guess that's the price of success.

For my part, I'm getting more curmudgeonly. People who insist that what works for them is what everyone should use are really annoying.

Remember when we had threads about the Hubble Telescope? Or quantum physics? And female artists with actual talent like Doris Day?

    I know I know...

Get off my lawn, and don't let the door hit me on the way out.

I've been thinking about starting a thread about how on a clear Doris Day you might see Schrodinger's cat using the Hubble telescope. Would that help?

I'm not sure what you're talking about, the Hubble and quantum physics? That stuff drew you to a forum dedicated to a 50 year old guitar?

A glance at the New Posts page right now has a thread about a member's daughter and her volleyball team, lots of discussion about music, instruments, and related topics, and some old guy with the blues. Seems pretty typical to me.

I don't always create threads to whine about threads, but when I do...

    I choose TDPRI.

well I know what you mean about "huge threads". I'll see an interesting new title, but there will already be 4 or 5 pages of responses, and I figure they don't need any input from me. I guess that's the change that comes with increased membership.

on a forum like this, eventually everything under the sun gets talked about. it was just a matter of time before cargo shorts was the subject.

Doris Day turned 95 in April, she might have been overheard, though we can't confirm this, saying she sure wish JayFreddy would start a thread and mention her name on the TDPRI, especially the Bad Dog Café. She was (maybe) overheard to say just today that "it could happen to you, dreams can come true."

Sorry if it seemed like whining. I thought I was waxing nostalgic. Goes to show, one man's wax is another man's whine.

Yes, I came here because I like Telecasters, but I also like other things too. Many of which were discussed here... And I suppose still are, but it requires more patience... Something I have less of.

I'd love if there was a thread with Doris Day and the Hubble telescope.

And I like threads about dogs too.

Maybe this will help - yesterday they finished testing the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) at Johnson Space Center (JSC) and are in process of boxing it up for return shipment. I'm not on site but received the following photo from a cow-orker today.

I cannot talk about "the good old times" as I was not here. I agree there are a lot of "dislike thread" and "if you would have a good ear you should use what I just bought"... but about "quantum physics" is up to us. The Einstein thread was funny and apparently nit a few liked. The only way to change things is... starting the thread you like more and try to gather people together around those threads

Until you start the thread, it is simultaneously helpful and not helpful.
