I came across this randomly and have never seen saddles like this. Has anyone seen or possibly used them before? I'm just curious if there are more out there or possibly just a one off thing. They just look so out of place on there.

They LOOK like something home-made to compensate for a mis-positioned bridge plate.

At first I thought it was someone's invention thinking "mass=sustain".....glad to find out it's for a sitar effect....that way I know to avoid like the plague.

Well I guess that explains it. Well what they are that is, not why you would want them. My initial thought was also a more material, more sustain situation. I will not be checking those out. Thanks for all of the replies!

I think it would be worthwhile to have a tele set up with those saddles for those times you want to break out this gem:

Oh, man - I'd never make fun of Redbone! I love that song. I also love that Coral Sitar sound heard in a lot of late '60s - early '70s hits.

If they weren't so expensive, I'm just stupid enough to try those saddles on my latest build, which is totally ridiculous to begin with.
