I'm a classic rock nut, and the first two songs i want to learn on it are Honky Tonk Woman (a classic tele song) and see if Sweet Home Alabama (sounds better on a tele or on my strat) also your thoughts on whether to keep the standard pickups or upgrade to Fender Customshop type pickups?

    She's gorgeous!

    I would leave her bone-stock.

No need to change pickups, in my opinion.

I would play that thing a long time before you contemplate switching. IIRC, recent Am. Std. teles have the Broadcaster/Twisted Tele pickups, which ARE custom-shop pickups!
