    I don't LIKE acoustic guitars - I LOVE them!

The new Martin Road Series models are awesome! I recently purchased the GPCRSGT (2015 Summer NAMM Best of Show), after seeing the reviews, hearing the demos, and playing one at the local GC. I loved it so much that I just treated myself to the Road Series Custom DCRSGT model. I love that one, too.

The Road Series models are travel-sized, and have simple Fishman electronics, but they feature solid wood sound board, sides and back - and the fretboards are plek'ed!

So, you trolled,.. er, posted for discussion. And now you object to the responses. Time to crank up that Crafter and sing the blues, sonny boy.

It is okay to go through an electric phase or an acoustic phase. Hemingway, just don't sell the Crafter. Your love for it will probably return someday. I enjoy the beautiful organic tones of acoustics and I much more enjoy the strumming of an acoustic, but yup, the electric through an amp is an awesome combination. Enjoy what you enjoy.

Another one just proving my point.

Seriously, people who take offence this easily, how do you get through life??

??? I capitulated - we are here to laugh at things we don't like. And its silly to not laugh along. Its also questionable how others get thru life without laughing along too. I'm a total convert. :)

Damn strummy thrummy things. And the folks who spend more than $200 on them, what a bunch of cork sniffers - learn three chords on a $200 import and that's all there is. Spending any more time or money is just laughable :)

So, now that I read the title correctly, "Hands up: Who just doesn't like acoustic guitars?" I'm raising my hand in full agreement. I fully apologize.

At this point I have lost the ability to tell who is being serious - which might have been a problem with my OP.

And it's entirely likely that I didn't read your post carefully enough, for which I apologise.

Incidentally my Crafter was a lot more than $200. I didn't know they made guitars that cheap.

Assuming facts not in evidence. I view your post as humorous, just not in the way you say you intended.

Isn't electric guitar for those of us who can't really play a natural string instrument and need to cover for that with amps, reverb, phasers, flangers, choruses, overdrives, and distortion?

Seriously, I play mostly electric and don't play acoustic as well as I do electric. The funny thing is that the one song which really made me want to play electric guitar, and for many years I thought it was electric, I found out later wasn't electric at all. According to Keef:

"I used a Gibson Hummingbird acoustic tuned to open D, six string. Open D or open E, which is the same thing – same intervals – but it would be slackened down some for D. Then there was a capo on it, to get that really tight sound. And there was another guitar over the top of that, but tuned to Nashville tuning. I learned that from somebody in George Jones' band in San Antonio in 1964. The high-strung guitar was an acoustic, too. Both acoustics were put through a Philips cassette recorder. Just jam the mic right in the guitar and play it back through an extension speaker."

That is hardly trolling. I know the average age on this forum is somewhere between “old” and death but Lordy - so many have the sensitivity of your average porn stache millenial.

Are you trying to deny us old giffers the right to be offended by anything and everything? I take offence at that. :)

I love my electrics but my first love is my classical. Nylon strings are just the best...
