Early '70's LP special, partially hidden by the Vibro Champ. I gotta find that truss rod cover!
I am a Tele man but I do love Les Paul's for comfort and slightly shorter easier playing scale length. My next build will be a Mahogany bodied LP from GuiatarAust. com.au with a maple top- cost $450 AUD. I'll apply a claret red stain to the body and neck then get Mick Brierly to make me some p/ups. All up should be about $700 AUD for quality woods, reasonable parts and Mick's p/ups.No prejudices as a LP is as good as you can get.
An EPI P-90 LP
Here's my submission... 2003 Standard and a 2011 60's Tribute!
Did you buy that Vox in the Pinkburst Project auction?
I ask because I know where the AC-15 went (Jay Jay French bought it), but I often wonder where the rest of the gear went.
Thanks! This one is actually an Iced Tea burst. The camera changes the colors slightly. When I bought it, I was torn between the honeyburst and the iced tea burst, but this one ultimately won out and I love it.
I have a lawsuit Penco-Paul.
I have a LP with a Fender scale neck, and one single coil in the bridge, does that count?
I have a few
To be honest I prefer them to my Teles. In fact just swapped one of mine for another LP. A heavily modded Catalina
Still leaves me with a Trussart & Baja
All 3 of these were made in 2008. The strat is American Standard. Tele is American deluxe. The LP is a Traditional Plus, in Iced Tea. Not pictured is a Godin Icon 2, which has many similiarities with the LP. In contrast, the Hiwatt in the background was made in 1979.
I have an Iced Tea burst but oddly enough I find myself using my Tele and my SG for almost everything.
how many of you tele folk have a les paul?
I don't understand the question.
1978 Les Paul Custom that I bought in 1988.
The guitar's eventual owner...
My trio of 57 RIs. Goldtop, Dickie Betts Signature, Black Beauty VOS.
I try to give equal love to each of them!
I'm in, with a 1978 LP Custom.
Guilty: '00 LP Classic Plus modded very close to '50s specs. I've also owned a '93 LP Special and a recent '60s Studio Tribute. They've both been traded for better Gibson style guitars.
I have this 2001 Epi Custom. I've only used it on 2 gigs, but enjoyed them very much, especially though the Twin Reverb. I've never been a Gibson player and it feels so much different then my Fenders, it doesn't get much use. In truth I'd have to leave my Fenders home and just focus on this guitar to be comfortable. Basically, I use it when there is a room with a loud buzz where single coils are a liability.
I still like to have it around though and it's quite a nice instrument...purty too!
My Les Pauls beat Tele´s 6-3 :
couple from early 90s - Standard and Studio w.ebony fretboard, (as good as the Historics, incredible guitars) ,
2006 BJA Junior (Wolfetone P90), and 2007 BFG
.. but the Nocaster kills them all
'99 Smartwood Les Paul in the Peroba top w/ gold hardware. Got her in 2000 for $600 w/ Epi hardcase. Deal of the century. This is pic from seller, I immediately took off the pickguard. No other mods, never had a problem.
Hardly ever play her with the CVs getting all the fun...
Never fails to amaze someone who's never played one. Sounds like the sweetest LP you've ever heard but light and oh so comfortable to play.
And that neck is just awesome.
I've got an R7 that i love, Tele is still my main guitar tho.
I'm gasing for a 52 style LP tho, i love the soap bar p-90's and that trapeze tailpiece.
