Spinal Tap, much?
That photo brings back memories. Those guitars were commissioned by Twisted Sister's Jay Jay French for an auction to benefit the Uveitis Foundation. His daughter suffers from the condition, and he commissioned each guitar company to build a one-off modeled after the Les Paul he played back in the club days with Twisted.
It took nearly three years to get all the guitars done, along with amps from Fender, Ampeg, Hartke, Marshall and Diamond, all covered in pink Tolex. The guitars were paired off with amps and sold at auction in Boston. Between the auction and a benefit concert that TS did in NY, they raised over $120,000.
I worked as Twisted's webmaster and I built the site for the project. I played every guitar in that photo, plus I hung out at the photo shoot with photographer John Peden, who is one of the biggest Fender collectors in NYC.
He had a photo shoot scheduled the day after ours with Keef, and Keef had Micawber sent ahead. I saw it in the open case, but no amount of bribery or pleading got me the chance to play it.
That is absolutely horrifying. Sort of like Rosy Greer and Ray Milland in the Thing with Two Heads

Out of all these oddball guitars, I actually really like this Strat(see my avatar).
Anything meant to resemble a rifle.
It's a bass, but still a guitar.
And as long as I'm posting weird basses,
And then the Star Child bass. Bootsy sure made it work though.
And then there's old Gene Simmons. The axe bass.
Page says its a Gibson. Maybe a Chibson??? Says K-tone right on it.
Strange knob placement, but I guess there's not enough room by the "jaw" for both switch and controls.
A real axe bass! 5 string too!!
Couldn't agree more!!!
They even use it on their acoustic bass, which otherwise isn't bad.
And these always reminded me of an Army P40 can opener.
Especially the spear blade headstocks like these.
I know they have their fans, and I'm sure they were amazing when big hair, makeup, your sister's blouses, lace gloves without fingers and spandex were in.
I think I just went blind!
I want the fishguitar! what's it called, the baitcaster?
