What material guitar strap would work for tie dyeing? I'm thinking nylon wouldn't be good, but cotton might work. I'm resurrecting an Aria Pro II RS 600 and since it's kind of a Jerry Garcia sort of guitar, a tie dye strap would be appropriate. I've got a local guy to do the dyeing, but I need to provide a strap. He suggested a rayon material, but I don't think I've ever seen a rayon guitar strap.

I would sew the tie dyed cotton or rayon fabric onto a plain leather backing. Could pad it a bit to make it pop out a bit.

Why not just buy one? There are dozens to choose from online.

I doubt dye would stick to nylon much. Could you really scrunch up a guitar strap enough to get a tie dye effect?
Yeah, maybe just buy one. Those are probably just printed on.

I saw some sweet tie dye pattern beach towels at Wally world and was thinking...

Guitar straps are easy to make if you or someone you know can sew. Your local craft/fabric store likely has most of what you will need.

Look for fabric made of natural fiber for taking the dye regardless of whether you purchase a strap or make one.

You could possibly use a swirl painting effect on canvas? So float paint in water and dip.

I like the DIY aspect of it and I haven't liked most of the ones I've seen online.
