I am too from the perspective of tools and appliances...that’s all I ever really used them for and even that has been years ago now. I had kind of already accepted the end was upon us for Sears...

Both snopes.com and FactCheck.org have said they cannot verify this quotation. In fact, since there were no contemporaneous tweets about the Gettysburg Address, they cannot definitively swear the speech itself was actually made at that time, and not inserted into the Congressional Record at a later date.

We’re getting flying cars soon and anti gravity shoes. I read it on face book.

    So I’m curious.

With their constant 20% off coupon or just haggling they probably sell that guitar new for ~$740.

How much do you think they buy the new one from Fender for?

What do you think they should have offered you for your used one?

I heard something from someone too, who read a headline but not the article, and who combined what they didn't read to begin with with their own uninformed assumptions. That's good enough for me, since it matches my uninformed preconceptions.

Ok, that makes sense. I wonder if I know any of them. They're in Amherst, NH and only about 13 miles from me. I wish I could buy stuff and pick it up and save on the shipping

The Nashua store was always great. I'm trying to remember where it was originally located before it moved to the then-new retail district in South Nashua.

I'm so shocked that it hasn't happened yet. I'm waiting for the "going bankrupt/close out sale" for that Epi DC junior with a P-90 for two years now. Dang it, you guys are still buying too much stuff.

C'mon, just let it go ... under.

That's Guitar Centers total debt. Left over from a leveraged buyout years ago. Not from a single years losses. Also keep in mind last year they sold 2.4 Billion dollars worth of merchandise.

I was going to post this yesterday, but I wasn't quite inspired enough.

GC in Nashville was a complete 3 ring circus yesterday. They greeted everyone with "welcome to the biggest sale of the year" and it was an inventory mess. I've seen better organized flea markets.

I tried to find order in their "distinction" room, but couldn't get within 5 feet of the wall due to "piles of boxes and crates" littered about.it might be just a sale, but it felt like the last days before an outlet store goes under.

I apologize for bias because that store drives me nuts on a good day !

The one here in VB just finished remodeling and adding some sound rooms, I think thats what the did in the back anyway. But boy they're not going to like hearing this right after they spent all that money

Several of those retailers are selling imported junk at premium prices (Stein Mart, Pier 1, etc.), so I'm not surprised they are in financial trouble.

Some great comments here, like the "as long as I have Radio Shack..." That one had me rolling on the floor!
