I'm not a fan, but considering the field I feel like they deserve it.

Those Grammys are always spot on. An accurate representation of talent, innovation and significance.

    Interesting fact:

Bob Dylan and Justin Timberlake have both won 10 Grammys, and each has been nominated 38 times.

Lots of dislike for the band but I personally think they are passionate and a band I will follow... congrats GVF!

Yeah, I see tons of threads about how awful contemporary music is.

An actual rock and roll band gets some mainstream attention and most of us dismiss them as a Zep clone. Come on, it’s rock and roll. Geez, the Black Crowe’s sounded kinda Stones like. And, I could go on and on about others.

    Kudos to them. Keep rockin’.

I'm not gonna hate on anyone for playing music...

That being said, I do think they need to find there own sound, not for commercial reasons, I mean obviously Led Zep sells!

On the other hand, how could having a 20yr old Led Zep that has mainstream success be a bad thing?

Even if we only see them as an imitation, think about the amount of young kids that will be exposed to all the great old rock of the past?

It can only be a good thing really.

Maybe it's the beginning of a revival of sorts?

All I'm saying, is to me they are riding on the back of Led Zep... but that can only be a good thing even if I dont like it.

Dont hate, appreciate... and hope they lure newcomers to the wonder of ROCK and guitar!

While I don't mind the group (they are likely a fun show but their early fame has likely killed the chances of them becoming unique), it is kinda sad that a rehash of an old idea with terrible lyrics (look 'em up) beat out all of the crazy talent out there this year. Then again... the stones did win best blues album recently.

There are a ton of real bands out there making great music if you all just look. In my opinion, this band is not one of them. I seriously do not understand why anyone with any sort of credibility would consider nominating them for a Grammy...and I can't fathom how they actually won.

I can't express it any better than this Pitchfork review: https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/greta-van-fleet-anthem-of-the-peaceful-army/

They are a manufactured "band" much like the Backstreet Boys, only they play instruments.

Greta Van Fleet sound like they did weed exactly once, called the cops, and tried to record a Led Zeppelin album before they arrested themselves. The poor kids from Frankenmuth, Michigan don’t even realize they’re more of an algorithmic fever dream than an actual rock band. While they’re selling out shows all over the world, somewhere in a boardroom, a half-dozen people are figuring out just how, exactly, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant are supposed to fit into the SUV with the rest of the Greta Van Fleet boys on “Carpool Karaoke.”

Can anyone help me understand what's so "rock & roll" about the grammys?
