This has been my experience. We divorced and instantly were back to getting along. It made raising our daughter much easier.

Didn't see that coming. Can't say it's a feel good story though.

Not with her, fortunately. I have a daughter. Her relationship with my daughter is one of the primary things that led to our separation.

Sometimes things just change or we finally see them clearly
Congrats & that’s a cool story. I’d have been hemorrhaging bricks

I just remembered that at our wedding, my best man and one of my groomsmen approached me and said, "You know, if you don't want to do this, we can pick you up, race out to the car, throw you in, and then haul tail out of here." I knew years ago that I should have taken them up on the offer. lol

Hearing about divorce makes me is sad. Whatever the reasons, it just seems sad to me that two people who once planned to live a life together are at such odds. Perhaps it’s because I’ve been blessed with a good wife and a solid marriage.

Thanks. I'm glad I didn't do too bad on the typos. There were a few, which I've corrected now. Although, there's probably still some that I missed.

Don’t be sad. People make mistakes. What would be sad would be them having to live together in misery until the end of times. I’ve been lucky with marriage but I’ve had some pretty turbulent relationships prior and can see how thing could get ugly fast when you don’t share the same values or see eye to eye. This ended well.

I agree with you 100%, even though I was not blessed with a marriage that worked out.

It is unfortunate and sad. In hindsight, there's no reason why my first wife and I should have divorced 14 years ago. We could have worked through our problems, but being young and equally irrational, we let the situation escalate and snowball out of control. My second wife and I should have never married to begin with. Having a daughter at that point, I didn't realize when the new romance blossomed, how critical is was for the two of them to also have solid relationship.

As tumultuous as it's been, I wouldn't go back and change anything. If I did, I wouldn't have my daughter, and I wouldn't have finally found the one.

I'm not a big Rascal Flats fan, but what a great song Jeffrey Steele wrote...

    There's a place I've been lookin' for
That took me in and out of buildings
    Behind windows, walls and doors
And I thought I found it
    Couple times, even settled down
And I'd hang around just long enough
To find my way back out
I know now the place that I was trying to reach
Was you, right here in front of me

I recently celebrated my 6 month anniversary since my divorce. Each day it gets better and better. So glad it is over and a lifetime of freedom awaits.
