I'm interested in trying some different flavors of fuzz and am wondering what's out there that's really cheap new...say under $40 or even better, under $30. Any recommendations?

    Tom's Line G-Fuzz

Both the above are far Eastern cheapie mini pedals and are probably available under different names. They sound different to each other, and both sound really very good, with a wide range of sounds available. The Tom's Line model has been confirmed by others as being a proper Germanium fuzz circuit.
Cheap as you'll get. They both punch well above their weight.

There's a couple from Behringer. They made a fuzz box in their older plastic range called the Ultra Fuzz, which sounds very good. They also made an overdrive pedal called the VT911, which is superb for getting Asheton-like Stooges noises on the cheap.

    Ummm.....

All of them? If it's under $40, get one of each.
That's my new philosophy on the Chinese clone pedals.

Well, I can see where I’m going to be spending the money from my next gig! Great suggestions and I hadn’t heard of a lot of these so time to check out some demos. Although I think I’ll start with the Behringer Super Fuzz clone.

I jump in to applaud at this encyclopedia of cheap classic fuzz clones.
    Great work Preacher.
I humbly add that Ehx does the Satisfaction Fuzz, Wich is a cheap clone of the Jordan Bosstone fuzz.

the sf300 is the fuzz pedal i use the most these days. it's my current favorite.

the idiot box dungeon master is that with the eq section of an hm-2. it's pretty great.

I've been really loving this pedal lately, even though I don't use the Fuzz sound on it's own. The boost section is worth the price of admission!
