After unintentionally (yes, unintentionally) acquiring a current total of 11 Teles, I feel I should (and space considerations require me to) pare down the number, to no more than 10 . . . but I cant decide which one(s) to sell . . . as I love them all . . . . so I am seeking your recommendations.

Though you may have seen the pic before, here are (most of) my Teles:

The black nashville in the pic is gone, and two other teles (52 Hot Rod and Tele Jr.) are not pictured. The current 11 are:

    AV52 RI
American Fat Tele (with ebony fretboard)
California Series Fat Tele partscaster (with CS broadcaster pup in bridge)
    Am Deluxe Ash Tele BSB
Custom Shop Jan '05 NAMM '52 Telecaster
    Vintage 52 Hot Rod
    Nashville Tele
    American Series Ash 8402
    American Series Ash 8502
    CV 50s Tele
    Tele Jr.

The most likely suspects are the Nashville (but this is my first Tele) and the 8402 (but this one is so light and beautiful and has such great tone). So hard to pick them. Maybe the American Deluxe Ash . . . but it has features the others do not . . . the AV52 and 52 HR are somewhat similar (so maybe one of them could go), but then again they aren't really the same. The CV is the least expensive of the lot, but that is just a reason to keep it (plus it plays so nice). I put the California Series Fat Tele together myself, and will not part with it. The American Fat Tele has that ebony fretboard, and is a dream to play, and is my only Tele with a non-maple fretboard (other than the Tele Jr.). The CS Teles are not going on the market, nor is the 8502.

    So that's my quandary . . . I've run out of space and I really don't need them all . . . heck, with my limited playing abilities I barely need 2 (some might say even 1 . . . .).

Any suggestions as to which of the bunch you would part with?

Sell none of them! GIVE me one, and you'll know it has a good home.

Very tough call....I know the feeling of having too many guitars and feeling guilty about it.Logically, you need to consider which ones are the most inspiring to play. The ones that are less inspiring are the ones that should be considered for sale.If they are all awesome, then keep them because you might regret it later...I know that from experience!

Too many guitars and I end up fiddling with them (or is it guitaring?) and don't play them enough. You have several redundant teles there, I'd pick 5 at most to keep.

put them in the room in a circle around you.

Put on a blindfold (no peaking).

Have your wife spin you around three times (at least).

Then pin a tail on the Tele.

I know you won't sell it but at least you'll have some fun Professor.

I always tell people to be careful about selling guitars. It's one thing if you HAVE to sell, but if you're just feeling guilty about having too many, think about it long and hard. I've heard too many stories about the guitars that got away.
This really isn't the best time to sell guitars either, it's a buyers market.
There's no rush is there, mull it over and you'll know which one must go.

I have too many as well, and my tastes change frequently and rapidly. So here's what I did to make myself feel better about the situation. I stashed my guitars in their cases in my humidity chamber, only leaving my most favorite one out. And I play only that one. I know the rest are here, and I can use them if I want or need to, but having them stashed away clears my mind and let's me focus on recording and playing. If I feel like changing guitars on a certain day I can, but I put the favorite away in trade.

    Out of sight...out of mind.

If you truly love each guitar then don't sell. Stash 'em. Trust me...it helps.

I'm with the others---you feel bad about having 11 Tele's but 10 is ok...?
Keep them all! Or sell 10 and keep 1! That will test your mettle.

Sell the ugliest Tele!.........um, er... ok, I'm afraid I can't help on this one.
