Here is my latest - a 2015 LP Special doublecut. I couldn’t resist the pricing, and it sounds different enough from my 2012 LP “Junior Special P90” that I will be keeping both. When I registered this, I asked for one of the new titanium nuts, which they’ve sent out. When I first change strings, I will replace the original brass nut with that. The pickups are rather different sounding than those in my other LP - they are somewhat more restrained and less raunchy. I personally like the wider fretboard. Since I’m mostly an acoustic player, it works very nicely for me. As far as the G-force tuners go, we’ll see. Right now, it’s sort of fun to be able to quickly switch to an open tuning, but I don’t know how it will work in the long run, and it’s easy to change if and when I make that decision.

Is anyone getting a "static" noise from the back electronic cover? I'm getting it, & I shielded the cover. It cuts it a little, but not totally gone. I thought it was my input jack at first, but it is not.

Looks like IC or CI to me.

That style of Junior pickguard with a neck pup inserted is just like the Univoxes of the same period. Probably made in the same factory. I'm guessing CI/IC could've been a store brand.

I sold mine a couple of years ago or so and have regretted it ever since. I'm the guy who started this thread way back when and everything. Arrrggh! I don't have many selling regrets, but that's a big one. So I have a Gibson double cut in TV yellow on order from Sweetwater.

With a tort guard, it must be a 2018?

I was amazed that they offered a lefty version, and at a reasonable price, so I jumped at the chance.

Yes, I'm sure guitaring as a lefty is much more difficult. I still wonder why Gibson chose to change the shape of the horns (as of 2016 or so, iirc) rather than just keep the same shape from the '50s that they used almost without exception for over 50 years. It's not noticeable at just a glance, yet not so subtle that it's not obvious once you know it's there.

Maybe it provides a little better neck stability with that extra wood forming the curve?

Guitarring as a lefty can be challenging, but if nothing else it's probably kept my gear habit at a sustainable level due to lack of options. ;)

Arrgh! It finally arrived after waiting over a month, but the headstock is broken nearly clean through. Now I have to wait to hear back from Sweetwater. I'm sure they'll take care of me, but who knows how long it will take to get another one . . . Bummer!
