Man I can't wait, I'm taking my kids to St. Petes tonight for one of their lenten Fri Nite Fish Fries.

Here in Madison WI, you cannot go wrong with either St Pete's or Immaculate Heart of Mary's deep fried cod on a Friday night. Either one just beats the pants off anything you can get at any restraunt or pub, and that's saying a lot.

I just wish they'd do it all year round.

Do you have any awesome local fish fries?

My Church provides fish dinners during Lent.

The also have 8 monthly family dinners during the fall and winter.

Great prices: $5, selection and large portions.

We tend to go to Scharenberg's Resort up in Montello, because it's run by a friend. Wife's a Lutheran, so we're unlikely to pursue your choices.

I avoid the Village Green for Fish Fry on Friday's ever since they started putting pineapple in their cole slaw. I go there otherwise, though.

raito , good fish fry is good fish fry, religious affiliation aside.

I used to love going to the Avenue for fish. I hadn't been for years and years and took the kids about a year ago, it was relatively very meh. They'd changed the recipe! Man was I disappointed.

I've since discovered the Owl's Nest in Poynette, and Toby's here in Madison. I'd highly recommend both.

We have good ones at my hunting camp. I believe some friends and I are going to have one this weekend if we get out to do some fishing.

The first thing I noticed when I left Wisconsin was the lack of fish fries (outside of lent anyway). What do you mean I can't go to any bar/restaurant/church/wherever and get fish fry any friday of the year? Now I'm back in WI, but work nights every friday so I'm still skunked. Enjoy your fish, everybody!

I miss fish fry so much. I want to move back home just so I can have it.

The amusing part about that is that I live in Boston and can get great seafood any time I want... but none of it is bluegill or walleye or lake perch. Mmmmmm bluegill.

Just got back from the North St. Paul American Legion Post #39. Great fish and sides; The Eric Thomas Duo crooning standards with muted trumpet and Hammond organ!
Many elderly women, few men, all dancing. It coulda been 1950 or 2012 and you wouldn't know the difference.
We go every Friday during Lent.

Yeah, the Avenue... You do know that the family got out of the business and sold to Food Fight, right? Sounds like they were coasting at the end.

Unfortunately not. I'm not really a fan of what passes for fried fish this far north.

What does that taste like? I've had the trout we can get here but that fish looks all exotic and good.
