One of the most striking, beautiful basses I've laid eyes on, kudos. Is this a hobby of yours or are you a full time builder? Fantastic looking bass guitar.

Very nice. I like how you can see the neck through from the back.

    Me too. Very original feature.
Reminds me of an open-top slide on a pistol.
(Ok, maybe I'm free associating a little but)

Thank you, ill be honest how it happened. I was using some measurements from a rick bass and it ended up very thin, it was the correct thickness but to me it was thin. So i added the maple to the back, then i was bummed you couldn’t see the neck through. Decided to cut the oval, really not sure how it would look. Wasn’t sure at first but it has grown on me and is something different

Mahogany body with spalted maple front and back. Neck is maple, mahogany and padauk. The black is fumed oak veneer

Quite a bit to like there. Upvote for the neck peekaboo.
