I have what I think is a MIJ vintage reissue jazzmaster. It has the old style heel adjust truss rod and a 7.25" radius board. Doing a refret and the finish on the edge of the rosewood is chipping off, and some of it's spread onto the maple. I'd like to repair the finish if it's possible. Not sure whether it's nitro or some sort of poly. I am assuming nitro because the rest of the guitar has all the "vintage" stuff like the tight radius and the truss rod. I have heard I can take some of the chipped off pieces of finish and see if they'll melt under acetone to tell if it's nitro. I'd appreciate any other help I could get. Not sure what to do if it's some sort of poly.
