Took me a while to get around to finishing this tele up. Work obligations caused me to keep putting it off. Super happy with how it turned out, with it being my first build and all.

    All-Parts Neck and body.
    62 Custom

Body finished with Duplicolor Jade Green Metallic. Wanted a British Racing Green/Dark Sherwood look. Metallic was a pain and I probably won't do it again. But I got the color I was looking for.

    Neck finished in ReRanch amber.

    Everything top-coated with Watco Lacquer.

CTS pots with cloth wiring. Orange drop .022 cap. Fez Parka mod.
Wired with a four way switch.

Had Nate Sanford of Sanford Magnetics wind me a set of pups. Neck is nice and full and bridge is very Broadcaster like. Very rock and roll. They sound great together in series and parallel.
    A5 mags, plain enamel wire.

Needed to shim the neck with a .25degree stew mac full pocket shim to get the action close to playable. Kinda bummed with that but the shims are great and save a ton of time. It's barely noticeable and I can't imagine it having any negative effect on tone. Not that I'm a good enough player to worry about it. Other then that the neck and body worked out pretty well. All said and done it comes in at an even 8lbs. A little heavier then I would like but, oh well.

My next build is going to be a strat and I've decided to go with USACG. They're local and come highly recommended.

Thanks for all you who post on the boards. I lurk and learn a lot. It was fun to do this start to finish and it certainly won't be the last. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Lovely. That shim doesn't effect the tone at all, so no concerns!

Thanks y'all. Yeah I love the green. Was thinking of building a dark green strat first but I just really wanted a tele. So that ended up getting the color. I dig the way it looks with the binding.

Glad to hear about the shim. I've never had to do that before but I'm aware that so many left Fullerton with makeshift shims. This stew mac shim is pretty foolproof.

I think it's an Allparts thing with their bodies because I am doing a Strat with their body and neck and had to do a .25 in it as well. I have done 3 with 2 fender bodies and a custom made body that didn't need anything using their necks. Still that's a good looking Tele.

That guitar is beautiful. I really want a sherwood green jazzmaster or strat someday. Great color choice!

I can't complain too much regarding All-Parts. Everything was well done. Binding and routes and whatnot. Needed very little finish sanding before sealing and painting. I probably won't ever use them again. Not because of quality necessarily but because USACG is very local and seems to come very highly recommended. I'd rather spend my dollars in my backyard. But the price was right on that body and neck and I have no regrets. As I said in my first post, it was the first parts guitar I've ever done so if I was going to muck up I'd want as little regret as possible.

That dark green is great. In some light it looks like a black custom in others VERY green. Works for me. And green is my wife's favorite color and when I told her what I wanted to build she was all about it. So +1.
