my favorite spots on a stones album is the spots between songs where the needle plays silence....

I always thought Brown Sugar was about the
best dancing tune there ever was.

The Last Time is actually a cover, but I think I agree anyhow! That song just makes me wanna jump up and down, scream, and air guitar like crazy! Close seconds are Paint it Black (one of the the most perfect songs ever written), and Play with Fire.

Wow, that's tough. I'm gonna also go with Gimme Shelter. That one always gets the blood pumping. Time is on my Side is a close second.

Next week It'll be something different.

To name one would exclude a hundred other contenders.

Lookit, The Stones are one of the all-time great rockinroll bands. They are one of my all-time favorite bands, hands down. They've been active for 48 years.

From the 60s through the 80s they put out some of the greatest rock albums ever.

No way can I name one single favorite Stones song. As soon as I think of one, a score of others flood in. Trying to pick one song out of that catalog makes my head asplode.

Impossible question, but I'll go out on a limb and say 'Memory Motel', if only because it hasn't been beaten to death by classic rock radio.

I can't believe no one has said it yet...

"Jumping Jack Flash," followed by "Tumbling Dice" close behind.

Sounds like I'm calling a horse race. :D

For me it's "Respectable" from "Some Girls". I wouldn't say it's their best by any means, just my personal fav.

I am generally a fan of pre-Wood era Stones, but Some Girls is such a great album. I think it's the fact that I am a Punk at heart that makes that album appeal to me so much.

One of my favourite basslines ever too.

My favorite Stones song is the one I am struggling to learn at the time. Today it is " Tumbling Dice." :D

The picture below has nothing to do with this post, I just like it. ;)

    "Waiting For A Friend"

hooks with a horn, and for the Stones-- almost optimism, not the chasm

Haven't listened anywhere near enough on the stones, but my favorite has to be Gimme Shelter. Absolutely love everything in that song.

Has no one said "Honky Tonk Woman" yet, a little surprising.

    "Beast of Burden" for me.
