Smoke From a Distant Fire - Sanford Townsend Band
There's many, but this one is a favorite and brings back memories of good times....
Its a special one for me: Mr Blue Sky by electric light orchestra.
Random thoughts: That was the American version of an ABBA video. There are some things we allow to go on film that we wish we could take back. Starland Vocal Band was two married couples, one of which worked with John Denver. Like ABBA, neither marriage survived the band. The recording console was an Auditronix 501, one of the first consoles I worked on in my professional career way back in 1981. Tom Scholz owns one and has recorded all his BOSTON albums on it.

I was an unworldly punk, barely in my teens, when this came out, unexposed to improvisational music, yet instinctively, dug this tune...In retrospect, it’s mind boggling to even believe a song this funky/bizarre & hip, could even find an audience on mainstream TV, nevermind, finding moddest popularity on the pop charts & AM radio...there was still reason for hope back then!
Always dug this tune...
A classic by the Hollies
I could just pick Bowie's entire catalogue from the 70s and call it a day. So much great music from that decade across every genre. Here are 2 of my slightly more obscure favorites:
Far be it for me to be critical of other's musical tastes, but flippin' heck.
