The "gum chewers" thread inspired me to start this.

    What's your favorite chewing gum?

I rarely chew anymore, but as a kid, teen and a young man I was an everyday chewer.

My first favorite gum as a kid was Tutti Frutti; we just called it "American Gum."

Sometime in the 50's Tutti Frutti was discontinued here and replaced by Wrigley's Juicy Fruit and Spearmint.

These have since been my favorites. "Modern" sugar-free gums don't do it for me the same way the classic gums did. Guess I'm a vintage guy when it comes to chewing gums as well as Telecasters.;)

One of my favorite sugar-frees is Stimorol Wild Cherry.

The standard chewing gum in Norway from the mid 30's to the late 90's was Swedish TOY, produced here by Norwegian Freia. It was discontinued with the introduction of the sugar-free gum. The word TOY was almost synonymous with chewing gum here during the 60's, 70's and 80's.

    Extra Polar-Ice for me.

I love Black Jack Licorice gum from Adams, but I only chew sugar-free now.

Freshen-Up was pretty awesome as a kid.

It was filled with flavor gel.

How much more awesome could that have been?

That is my other favorite for sure!

The clove flavor goes away pretty quickly, but that first 15 seconds is like a dream.

    Almost mouth-numbing.

Reminds me of Djarums Clove cigarettes.

I had a run in with those for a little while.

As long as it's peppermint, I don't mind. Spearmint is gross, IMO.

Peppermint is great, but I like spearmint even better.

What I don't like are the strong (cool) mint or - especially - eucalyptus flavored gums. And while I like licorice I don't favor licorice flavored gums. Berries and fruits do it for me everytime.

Beeman's Pepsin gum. The luckiest gum in the world. Chuck Yeager used to borrow a piece from his crew chief before a flight, promising to pay him back when he returned. He always returned.

I love the Teaberry gum. Haven't seen it in quite a while though.
