    00B02998-37AD-43AB-8AF5-D263A87B953C.jpeg Hi all,
Got a jumpstart on my Father’s Day build. I started to get the body finished. It’s a pine body, nice and cheap. I used a benzenatic torch, about two days inches away, going with the grain. Burned the whole body, then used a Scotchbrite to sand it down lightly, wiped it off with some denatured alcohol. Applied two coats of Watco so far. Will do one more tomorrow, then some wax.

1F9ECAE1-07A9-43E4-8237-30665AFA7646.jpeg I have the neck fitted on the body, still need some filing on the pocket to get it to sit right. Used some watco and wax on the neck too, really made the figuring stand out.
    So far only $70 invested.

Not sure if going with a half bridge and wood mount pickup, or just a vintage bridge plate. Any comments?

Oh wow, that things going to be a beast!
I think the half bridge should compliment the sound of that pickup. Being a stacked humbucker and having a ceramic magnet it might get ice picky with a full plate. I’ve never used a chopper t but I had a SD Hot Stack in a Tele once and it was really bright.
