Actually, Keef. But I fell in love for that Prince solo in 3'25":

    And… hmmm … Robben

PS: I second all of the others above, including (or even: especially) Sheryl Crow. Let’s not forget about PJ Harvey, though!! My telecaster heroin!

First big tele influence for me was Jesse Ed Davis. I'd seen them many times, but his sound - and the look of it - hit home.

Roy Nichols; Steve Cropper; Albert Lee (I saw him with Emmylou when he was still a Tele guy); Steve Burton. Guy in my first band had an Esquire out of the '50s-something about it was captivating. I'd like to know what happened to it!

It was an actual, definitive moment when I heard Tanner Terhune (The Avid Light) playing a tele with his girlfriend at a local open mic. I was 100% gone. I've hardly picked up an acoustic since.

Then when I started listening to what Andy Othling was doing with his partscaster tele, I got sucked down the rabbit hole and I've been stuck ever since.

Edit to say: I guess those guys are really that famous universally. But they are to me.

For me... its all Jeff... always been him. This was the one artist that made me really want to play electric guitar besides listen to music.

Long before I realized Jimmy Page was sporting a Tele on the first few albums, I saw / heard this and thought "Huh..."

Rich Robinson first got my attention, back when both this song and my desire to play guitar was new:

Skip to 1:25 to hear the best example, and to skip Chris Robinson pissing his entire band off.

Chasing Mike Campbell's tone is what keeps me from putting it down these days.
