I moved my VOX MV50 (tiny head) and a 1 x 12 cab next to music stand (it’s the band practice zone). It sounds great and it’s soooo simple. The crunch is nice from the MV50 but I’m running it clean with two pedals. 11 Gauge did a subtle mod on the TS9 years ago. This has been my complex (kidding) practice rig for the last 10 days. There is something about the tone and feel of this simple rig that I really enjoy. To me it’s almost funny.

Do you have a very basic rig rig that really gets you going/makes you happy?

Godin nylon multiac into Fishman Loudbox mini.

Recently inserted a Zoom MFX in between, but I was perfectly satisfied with the onboard chorus and 'verb for a year an a half.

A telecaster straight into my ‘79 JMP Master Lead II

    Has everything essential in spades.

I need fx loop and time based fx versatility in my bands these days so use Mesa and DSL rigs live but if i only had a simple rock and blues band, the JMP and boost would be it.

Telecaster straight into my Champ-a-like. A simple setup, played simply by a simpleton. I often complicate it by adding a slap-back. There's much joy to be had.

My 2003 MIJ Gretsch 1959 Nashville Classic into a Roland Cube 80XL is the best sounding, and most versatile rig I’ve ever owned!

I'm all about simple. What brings me joy is any one of my Logan Custom teles into any one of my Vox Pathfinder 15Rs. I'm not a pedal guy, so no pedals, either. I do own a BOSS ME-70 multi-fx that I play around with at home, but I can count on one hand the number of times I've taken it to a gig. So just tele into Pathfinder. Simple. Joy. My Logan Custom Tele family, with Vox Pathfinder 15Rs.jpg

And for my acoustic/electric sets/gigs, my Logan Custom acoustic/electric into my Fishman Loudbox Mini.

    Tele into a Boss ME-70 into a Cube 60.

I set the Cube on the Deluxe Reverb clean sound with a bit of reverb

I use the ME-70 for dirt, delay, a little compression, and as volume and wah for solos.

Extremely small footprint, one trip load in/out, perfect volume for band practices, mics up easily for gigs.

I came here to say this. I love the '52 Telecaster reissue through a Champ, maybe with a little good reverb like a Strymon Flint. Simple but very effective.

All my rigs are simple, and [almost] always have been. Guitar, tuner, single-speaker combo amp is it most of the time.

Strat or Tele copy into an Epi Valve Jr, into a 112 cab. Blues Driver copy as a boost for when I need it. Beautiful and simple.

My scratch-built double P90 thinline tele into my little (4Watt) Matamp Spirit combo. Nothing else, no pedals.

I recently played a couple of parties (not really gigs) with my 62RI Strat and 63RI Vibroverb, with just a TS808RI to take the cleans. I was shocked at how nice this sounded and *almost* made me re-think my pedalboard.

*Almost*...then I came to my senses.

Slightly modded Special direct to the Champ. Simple, and simply perfect.

And the Working Musician strap I bought back in '84 that started out so stiff is like an old friend now.
